If You Struggle With Not Being Able To See God

Even if you are a Christian and have a strong faith, you may struggle with feeling distance from God based on His Spirit nature. You may often wonder, “How can an invisible God ever possibly make me feel as good as the human touch?” or “How can I feel a close relationship with Someone I can’t see?”

Go To The Best Places

Yes, God is present everywhere, but there are definitely certain places to go where you can feel His touch more. It is different than human touch, yes. But divine touch is everlasting. Some places where others have experienced His touch include:

  • Church services that stir your soul and spirit
  • Holy Communion
  • Perseverance in His Word, especially in pleasing settings
  • The revelation of His creation
  • Gatherings where people have humbly, purely invited Him to have a thick presence
  • After a time of confession
  • When praising Him
  • During a time of thanksgiving
  • When needing comfort only He can give

Be Possessive of Him

God’s Word richly shows you how you don’t have to talk to Him collectively. You are given full permission to say: “I want You for me, myself, and I.”

Be Raw

He has the character and qualities available for absolutely every single need or situation you could ever find yourself experiencing. During hardship you have the chance to experience Him coming close.

Rehearse The Stories

If you don’t have your own history with God yet, dive into the plots and stories of the Bible to get to know Him better. Knowing Him will help you sense Him working in your life for the same grand plan and purposes as He was then.

Once you begin your own joyful adventures with God, you might want to record how He is at work in you, as another tangible method of feeling Him closely.

I sought the Lord, and He heard me…The angel of the Lord encamps all around those who fear Him…Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good…Come, you children, listenThe eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and His ears are open to their cry…The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart…(Psalm 34)

With hope,
