Book Review: Meet Me in the Middle by Barrett & Jennifer Johnson
Two-books-in-one, this latest release by Barrett & Jennifer Johnson, Meet Me In The Middle: A Book For Dads and A Book for Teenage Girls – is good! REALLY good! Half of the book is written for teen girls and the other half is written to their dads. The content is the same; but the perspective fits each party. And some excellent points are made that daughters and dads truly may not have thought of before.
Teen Girls – What Will This Book Do For You?
- Acknowledges that most dads don’t know what they’re doing…
- Encourages you to get permission from him to speak very honestly – without him getting mad or trying to fix it
- Focuses on how your dad is uniquely suited to help you with some of your biggest problems (his side of the book trains him how not to blow it!)
- Is very well-organized, doesn’t ramble, and isn’t annoying
- Offers simple instructions of things you can do (and not do) to have better teen years
- Understands the world you live in today and offers realistic responses
- Provides great conversation starters to use with your dad that don’t make you feel like you’re the one in the spotlight or the one with all the issues
- Wants you to have a confident perspective and promotes a partnership with your dad you’ll truly like
- Gives you a motivating, surprise ending
